An introduction to Machine Polishing
This "Introduction to Machine Polishing " is the first in a series of articles dealing with how to select and use random orbit, dual-action and rotary polishers to remove paint defects and maximize paint gloss.

In this introduction, we define "Machine Polishing," and categorize the industry's most popular polishers as "Random-orbit", "Dual-action (D/A)" or "Rotary."

We then explain what tasks each category of machine polisher is best suited for and list the "pros" and "cons" of each machine type.

In future machine polishing articles, we will offer in-depth, step-by-step, instructions on how to use random-orbit, dual-action and rotary machine polishers to accomplish a variety of detailing tasks.

So, we invite you to come over to and learn "everything you wanted to know about polishers, but were afriad to ask".
