New Nissan 370Z on the way.

Today, we have another great post from the good folks over at AutoWeek.
Looks like the boffins at Nissan have come up with the next iteration of the Z series.
The 350Z now becomes the 370Z.

=============================

This morning, we’re getting treated to the first official shots of the Nissan 370Z--the successor to the 350Z.

Nissan released some shots in advance of the Los Angeles auto show, and what we see is a remade sports car with some serious stones.

This car is shorter and wider--perhaps adding some aggression to the stance--and it gets a 3.7-liter V6 powerplant.

This is the first full redesign of the Z car since it re-launched as a 2003 model. Obvious features include the extended hood and dramatic headlights, taillights and fender flares.
The C-pillar also slopes down at about a 45-degree angle.

Nissan has been doing some chest pounding recently after the launch of the GT-R supercar, and this looks to be a solid follow-up.

Inside, the interior has the expected sports-car feel, with contrasting accents on the door panels and what look to be snug-fitting, but comfortable leather seats.

We had expected the nameplate to change, and Nissan’s statement today confirms it. It goes on sale early next year.

The 370Z was shown Wednesday in the run-up to the launch of a video game, Need for Speed Undercover, which drops Nov. 18 and will feature the car.
